SCOPE OF WORK: Logo Design
The client needed a logo for their brand of wellness products.

In their words:
"We offer natural products and services for mind-being wellness, nourishment and beauty, such as herbal teas, healing balms and medicinal tinctures, nutritious meals and food items; plus topical products for hair, skin, nails and teeth. We also host events, community projects and day trips geared towards healing and upliftment."
My approach.

I thought it best to keep it simple for this. They had mentioned not wanting something that was necessarily elegant, and wanted to avoid any aesthetic that would be perceived as snobbish. I set about creating a visual that was approachable, "grounded" in its general purpose, while feeling clean and simple, in a way that one could say visually compliments its product offering.

While I didn't want to be too clichéd, as brands of this ilk can sometimes be, I didn't want it to appear out of it's element either. After all, in branding, design, and marketing, clichés aren't always a bad thing.
I created custom letters for the brand name, and complimented that with abstract root imagery, to communicate the brands natural and holistic theme. I made the design tighter and more compact. This would be good in making it stronger as a recognizable mark, and would make it more flexible to reproduce, as a stamp (on soaps, for example) and across a wide variety of media, while maintaining the same visual presence and legibility.
